Here at Shi-awela, you will find the 10,000 acre home of the Ball family located in the Limpopo Province of Southern Africa.  Shi-awela is our home, our business, and our piece of God’s magnificent creation. We have been blessed with such a rich portion of this great earth and have been very fortunate to be able to share it with adventurers from around the world.

Since 1965, our property has been a proclaimed private nature reserve and is exempt to host a wide variety of wildlife species. Over the years, research has taken place focusing particularly on nocturnal animals, rodents, Brown Hyena and Cape Vulture.  Shi-awela also boasts a variety of bushveldt birds and a nutritiously rich, bushveldt habitat for hundreds of African mammals.

Beginning in 1989, Shi-awela has outfitted safaris for both photographic tours and regulated hunting for the management and harvesting of wild game. The hunting season range is the winter months of April through September.
